The Problem
Plastic is an amazing material— it is cheap, durable, and convenient; but its overuse and poor disposal have turned it into an environmental disaster.
Hong Kong has a serious problem, plastic waste is piling up at an alarming rate, overwhelming landfills, polluting oceans, and harming wildlife.
2,300+ tonnes of plastic waste are dumped in Hong Kong’s landfills every single day—that’s about 170 Olympic swimming pools worth of plastic each year.
Only 11% of plastic is recycled, meaning most of it ends up in overflowing landfills or worse—our oceans.
The city’s three landfills are nearly full, and despite new government recycling efforts, plastic waste continues to rise.
The convenience-driven culture, with excessive food packaging and reliance on bottled water, makes plastic reduction a challenge.
Our Story
Our journey to revolutionising laundry day began in early 2020 when co-founders Ally and Chris were supporting a local beach clean up discussing the immensely wasteful single-use plastic ubiquitous in Hong Kong.
Seeing this explode during the Covid pandemic they decided to stop just talking about it... and finally do something about it!
We set out to create a simple, sustainable swap: plant-based, plastic-free laundry detergent sheets that get clothes fresh without polluting the planet.
